Minutes of the Business Meeting of the Central Plains Society of Mammalogists

The meeting was called to order by President Dwight Moore. A draft constitution for the society was provided to each member. The constitution was approved by the membership. Elections for the positions of Secretary-Treasurer, Webmaster, Student Member, and state representatives were held. Aaron Reed was nominated for Secretary-Treasurer and approved by acclimation. Ryan Rehmeier was nominated as Webmaster and approved by acclimation. Raymond Matlack was approved as the Student member of the Board. Representatives from Kansas (Don Kaufman), Missouri (Lynn Robbins), Oklahoma (Steven Hoofer), and Iowa (Jon Storm) were approved.

The 2001 meeting of the Society was scheduled for 12-13 October 2001 and will be held at Emporia State University with Elmer Finck as chair. Publicity and policies for future meetings were discussed. Don Kaufman suggested that any member who has knowledge of others who may be interested in the Society should invite them. Don Kaufman moved that the names of current members of the Society should be published on the website, the motion was seconded and approved. Don Kaufman moved that abstracts should be required for all papers presented at the annual meeting, this was seconded and approved. Don Kaufman further suggested that the due date for submission of abstracts should be sufficiently early to allow publication of all abstracts on the website before the annual meeting. The business meeting was adjourned by President Moore.
